Working with you through the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic

To our valued clients, referrers and community,

Back in March 2020 we re-assured you that as the situation with the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic continued to develop, we remained confident of being able to continue to service our clients through these uncertain times.

You may have heard that under Victoria’s Stage 4 restrictions legal services have been closed until 13 September 2020. This announcement does not affect you or us. We will continue to operate with our lawyers and administration staff working remotely. We are set up with our client files stored electronically and all the necessary IT, and have mostly been operating remotely since March.

To keep everyone safe we have been seeing clients by video-conferencing and this will continue. We continue to be involved in mediations and court hearings on an electronic basis. Jacky can do arbitrations on the papers or electronically so that disputes can be resolved faster in circumstances where the waiting lists for interim and final court hearings increased due to the pandemic.

The family law courts have shown themselves to be flexible in adapting to the changed conditions with hearings on Teams or on the telephone. Sensible practice directions have been made to enable the family law courts to deal with disputes in a COVID environment. A COVID List was established by the family law courts to deal with urgent matters arising from COVID.

Intervention orders can now be applied for online. If there is family violence and someone is at risk they can leave home despite the current Stage 4 restrictions.

These are uncertain times, but we will work with you to get through this. You can be confident that the quality of our advice and assistance to our clients will continue.

If you have any queries or concerns please direct them to Jacky and Wendy on 9248 5800 or

We wish you all the best in these difficult times and hope you all stay safe.
