Yani graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Juris Doctor in December 2022. She was admitted to practice as an Australian Lawyer in June 2023 after completing her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice. She also holds a Bachelor of Laws from Soochow University in China.

Yani has practised exclusively in family law since August 2023, driven by her passion for helping families navigate complex legal issues.

Prior to joining Forte Family Lawyers in August 2025, Yani worked in the family law team of a general practice firm, where she gained experience in assisting culturally diverse clients. She has also developed a particular focus on matters involving Asian clients, especially those from Chinese-speaking backgrounds.

Yani is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria, the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and Victorian Women Lawyers.

Yani is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.
